BC PADDLESPORT INSTRUCTOR

The British Canoeing Paddlesport Instructor Award is the ideal first award for outdoor instructors and club paddlers alike who are looking to introduce others to the joys of canoeing and kayaking as well, as coaching and developing the skills of beginners.  This 4 day combined training and assessment course explores the fundamentals of paddlesport, together with easily digested coaching theory to allow instructors to facilitate safe and enjoyable learning during their sessions.  A heavily practical course in both single and double bladed craft; your own skills will also be developed, and you will get lots of supportive practice running sessions.

This course can be ideally combined with the Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT) course to make a 5 day package.

BC COACH AWARD - CORE TRAINING

This 2 day course is the first step in the pathway to completing the British Canoeing Coach Award - which enables to you to deliver quality sessions for learners looking to improve their skills in their chosen craft.

The Core Training is a practical based course which explores the different approaches to coaching, understanding and enabling learning.

BC COACH AWARD - SEA KAYAK COACH

After completion of the Core Training, this award is appropriate for those holding their Sea Kayak Leader Award who are looking to coach others in sea kayak in the moderate water environment.  It comprises of a 2 day training course, consolidation period and a 1 day assessment.

The 2 day Training course builds on the material from the core training and examines the HOW to coach and WHAT to coach in the sea kayak.  As well as lots of coaching input from an experienced course provider, you will have the opportunity to get plenty of practice delivering sessions centred around the sea kayaking technical and tactical skills.

A individual action plan, comprehensive course notes, and ongoing support then follows to aid you through your personal consolidation period where you deliver coaching sessions to your own learners.

The 1 day Assessment course assesses your ability to deliver coaching sessions to a small group of real learners.

The 2 day Training course builds on the material from the core training and examines the HOW to coach and WHAT to coach in the white water environment.  As well as lots of coaching input from an experienced course provider, you will have the opportunity to get plenty of practice delivering sessions centred around cutting-edge, modern white water technical and tactical skills.

A individual action plan, comprehensive course notes, and ongoing support then follows to aid you through your personal consolidation period where you deliver coaching sessions to your own learners.

The 1 day Assessment course assesses your ability to deliver coaching sessions to a small group of real learners in the white water environment.
