ISLE OF HARRIS EXPEDITION

The Isle of Harris, off the West Coast of Scotland, is truly a world-class sea kayaking destination.  The island hosts white sand beaches, an array of magnificent marine wildlife, rich and colourful machair flora, unique characterful bays and inlets, and some of the oldest rocks in the world; all set in one of the most remote and stunning coastlines in the British Isles.

Working together with Zoe Newsam Guiding, this is a 5 day camping expedition, taking all our food and equipment with us in the boats with the aim of being self-sufficient for the duration of the expedition.  This gives us the opportunity to truly explore this stunning island unrestricted, being closer to nature sleeping under canvas and have the social enjoyment of cooking, and perhaps sharing a "wee dram" together in the evenings, sharing stories of the day's paddle.

Our guides will foster a team ethos from the outset, and all trip planning and tidal calculations will of course always be shared and chatted through as a group throughout the expedition, and coaching and instruction in tidal planning will be available.

Our destinations will of course be dictated by the weather, sea conditions and needs and wants of the group - but to say we are spoilt for choice on the Isle of Harris is an understatement.  The white sand beaches of the west coast, compared with the commonly more sheltered idyllic bays and inlets of the east, mean their are countless opportunities for a fine adventure.
